Oceanmata's exciting journey began a little over two years ago! Specifically, with a vacation our founder Dominik and his girlfriend took in Sri Lanka. But besides beautiful dream beaches and delicious food, one thing in particular stuck with them: the ubiquitous plastic waste that somewhat marred the image of this wonderful country. However, the cause of this often lies in the global North, as our waste is frequently transported abroad and then ends up in the sea via rivers or other routes. So, Dominik quickly decided that he wanted to tackle exactly this problem. A subsequent trip to Bali then gave rise to the basic idea behind Oceanmata: sustainable phone cases and accessories that, thanks to their biodegradable material, do not further pollute the ocean and even remove plastic from the sea!

Safety, Flexibility and Comfort

One of these accessories is the practical Phone Strap. For a few months now, we have been offering sustainable Phone Straps in black, pink, and turquoise. But beware! This is not just a fashionable accessory - the Phone Strap is also super practical! The loop makes the phone fit better in your hand, providing you with additional security as well as uncomplicated one-handed use. In addition, the Phone Strap can be used as a practical stand, allowing you to prop up your phone and, for example, comfortably watch Netflix on your phone during long train journeys. Our Phone Strap is therefore the perfect everyday companion!

The Phone Strap is super easy to attach to your phone case! Clean the phone case, peel off the paper from the adhesive strip, place the Phone Strap centrally and straight on the case, and press the Phone Strap firmly for 10-20 seconds. In general, the Phone Strap can be attached to any phone case and even to the engraved cases of our Special Editions. The Phone Strap measures approximately 9.8cm x 1.9cm.

The best protection for your phone and the ocean

The Oceanmata Phone Strap not only protects your smartphone with a more secure grip, but also protects the ocean! You are probably wondering how this is supposed to work. Here is the answer: the Phone Strap is made of a biodegradable plastic that decomposes faster and more environmentally friendly than conventional plastic. This prevents the Phone Strap from ending up in the ocean again after its use and causing further harm to marine life. In addition, our diligent Oceanmata team in Bali collects 1 kg of plastic from the island's beaches for every product sold. This is then brought to our own Clean-Up Station on site, cleaned, and sorted. Suitable plastic can then be reused for recycling.

All our products are also packed and shipped plastic-free and environmentally friendly. For shipping, we have chosen cardboard boxes made of grass paper, which consist of 60% recycled paper and 40% grass. However, we are already working on a smaller shipping option to send small items, such as the Phone Strap, as resource-efficiently as possible. Your order will be shipped CO2 neutrally via DHL Green.

Phone Case and other Oceanmata products

Our specialty at Oceanmata, however, is phone cases made of biodegradable plastic. These are now available in eight different colors, designs and finishes, such as cases with a practical phone chain. For every case sold, 1 kg of plastic is collected in Bali, and with a case from one of our Special Editions, you also support the respective organization that works to protect turtles, corals, dolphins, or sharks. Oceanmata phone cases are available for common iPhone models and some selected Samsung devices.

For all-round protection of your smartphone, you will also find the right protective glass made of robust tempered glass. This way, your display is optimally protected from the dangers of everyday life, scratches, and drops.

We stand behind the quality of our products, which is why we created Oceanmata Care. If your smartphone is damaged despite an Oceanmata phone case and protective glass, we will contribute €150 towards the repair costs. Furthermore, you can easily return your products within 100 days if you are not completely satisfied, have changed your mind, or simply don't like the Phone Strap. And even in the event of a complaint or exchange, our customer service is there to listen. In addition to ecological sustainability, social sustainability is also very important to us. We ensure fair working conditions, fair wages, and high occupational safety for all our partners. This has also been certified by TÜV Rheinland at our production facility in China.
