Oceanmata Sponsorships

In November 2021, Oceanmata celebrated its second birthday. The exciting journey began back then with the idea of freeing our world, and especially our oceans, from plastic. Dominik's stay in Sri Lanka was the deciding factor for this vision. He was shocked by the accumulation of plastic and the careless way it was handled. That's why he wanted to develop an everyday product that would break this cycle and not cause any further damage to our environment.

This led to the idea of sustainable phone cases! On another trip to the dream island of Bali in Indonesia, he had a fateful encounter with a local, which led to the connection with our own Clean-Up Project on the island, where our Bali team frees the island from plastic waste daily. For every product sold, we collect at least 1 kg of plastic to get closer to our goal of freeing the oceans from plastic by 2050.

Save Turtles with a Turtle Sponsorship

At Oceanmata, you can sponsor one, two, 20, or 40 turtles and thus support the Turtle Foundation in Indonesia. There, the small turtles can hatch in peace and well protected, without being collected by poachers and, unfortunately like so many other turtles, ending up in a soup pot. It is important to know, however, that you are sponsoring a symbolic turtle here. This means that we do not name, track, and send you information about a specific turtle, but rather you are supporting the entire Turtle Foundation with your sponsorship and donation.

Nevertheless, you will receive a certificate for this symbolic sponsorship and regular updates by email over a period of about two months, which depict the typical hatching process of a turtle. When you buy a phone case from the Turtle Edition, you automatically get a sponsorship. The cases are available for Apple iPhone and recently also for some selected Samsung smartphones. When you buy a Turtle Case for your AirPods or AirPods Pro, you also receive a turtle sponsorship.

Rebuilding Coral Reefs with a Coral Sponsorship

In addition, at Oceanmata, you can take on sponsorships for various corals. Again, this is a symbolic sponsorship, with which you support the organization EcosystemImpact. The goal of this project is to reforest and sustainably preserve the coral reefs around two small islands off Sumatra, Indonesia. This requires metal structures to which the coral seedlings are attached. These are then anchored to the seabed to grow into a beautiful coral reef. To implement the project, however, training of the local population, equipment, and rangers to guard these structures are also necessary. EcosystemImpact can implement all of this with our, and especially your, support.

For the symbolic sponsorship, you will receive a certificate and regular updates on the project by email. Furthermore, the coral sponsorship can be easily given as a gift. Simply contact our customer service after your purchase and we will help you with it!

Other Oceanmata Products

Our core product, however, remains sustainable phone cases for Apple iPhone and some Samsung models. The special thing about these cases is the biodegradable plastic they are made from, which decomposes faster than conventional plastic under composting conditions.
